Hi guys and gals, this is episode seven of Stuck on Shuffle.

On ComediCast, I talk to Eli Jakeman and Justin Laite about “keeping it real”. What ensued was kind of off topic, but it was real. So…It counts? Anyways, I feel like an ass for outright downing the scotch at the get go. Does that ever happen to you, where you think you’re doing it one way because you thought that was what you were supposed to, even though it conflicts with your better judgement?
Bozo the Clown was a funny one to come up with, I had this idea in my head about doing a scene involving a clown for a while. It’s meant to be about how clowns wear obvious masks, and yet in the eyes of children it’s completely believably a person / terrifying. One time in elementary school, we had a guy dressed as Ronald Mcdonald talk to us about positive behavior and self esteem. His slogan was “can do attitude!” And he got the entire school to chant it. Funny how eight years in that place, it was a corporate icon that had the most positive message, usually I got stuff like “do good or go to hell”. I guess when you’re younger, you believe clowns and their kin are real because there’s yet to be that distinction between real people and characters you see on TV. Well ok, when it’s a cartoon or a video game you kind of get it, but live action stuff is at it’s most believable when you’re young. It’s not the violent video games or cartoons that shape young kid’s perception, it’s the stuff they’re convinced is real. Top Marks to Blair Streeter and Amanda Day for filling the shoes of a seriously dysfunctional couple.
I wrote Alternate Olympics actually when I was 6 or 7. It was a bunch of images on a sketch paper that was kind of like what Mad Magazine would do as a piece. In fact, I think I might have just ripped them off. Anyways, top marks to Eric Minch for being the awesome over-the-top British commentator that I wish I could do.
Tis’ it for now. I’m hoping to try something new for the podcast portion next episode, I’m worried that I’m using ComediCast as kind of a crutch to fill time. I shouldn’t say anymore at the moment, better to actually prove my case.

I’ve mentioned this to a few people in person, but I wanted to share my extended thoughts on something that’s been bothering me:
I’ve been OK with most of the changes Facebook has undergone the past few years. I know how the format can go from intuitive to annoying when they reveal a new style, but I never got so mad about it I had to let everyone I know how I feel. More recently, there has been a change to the Facebook method that doesn’t just annoy me, but bothers me because it’s an affront to my personality type. The change is with the messaging system, in order to encourage a faster exchange between two people, the messages now appear like a conversation, not a personal message. And what’s worse, it went and gathered all the messages I previously sent/received from that contact and then listed them as if it were a timeline of my relationship with this person. Some people I only send messages to wish them a happy birthday, some of them I haven’t said anything in huge stretches of time, and then of course there are the people I’ve met in comedy, who’s entire conversation consists of me asking them for stage time, or them asking to do my podcast. If Facebook is collecting information as much as I think they are, they must assume based on the few actual conversations I’ve had that I’m pretty damn lonely. Now that the amount of friends you have means almost nothing.
I decided to move the rest of it to my tumblr. Im trying to reorganize where I put what.

In this edition, we talk with some hardcore Community fans about why you should give it a try. I’ve been watching it loyally since Matt introduced it to me, and in almost no time at all it shot up to be my favorite tv show period.
On the sketch side of things, this one was a challenge from Heather. She wanted to to a scene where the girls get to act girly, and for some reason there’s an obvious guy among them that they’re oblivious to.
Of course, this included watching an episode of Gossip Girl. Man, these kids are so damn spoiled, even the poor ones have a studio apartment. I do think there’s an interesting concept in the character Gossip Girl, because she can notify everyone about some development or revelation, which turns people against each other, and nobody knows who the hell she is. Because tracing the text is just too damn unreasonable, right?
